What are the ways that a property tax bill can be paid?
Property tax bills can be paid during office hours (Monday thru Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm). They can be paid by check, money order or cash.  Credit cards are not accepted. Property tax bills can also be mailed to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (501 Main St. Ste. #8 Shelbyville KY 40065). Property tax bills must be paid in full, we cannot accept partial payments.

FYI – If your property tax is paid through a mortgage company, check with your mortgage company to see if you or your mortgage company is the responsible party for payment of property tax bills.  If your mortgage company is responsible, it is the property owner’s responsibility to forward the property tax bill to the mortgage company.

How do I get copies of reports prepared by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office?
Contact our office during office hours at (502)-633-4324.  All reports are listed in the name of the victim for case reports (case report examples are burglaries, thefts, sexual assaults, physical assaults, fraudulent use of debit/credit cards, etc.) Traffic accident reports are also listed by the names of the drivers involved. Our staff will check our records to see if the report in question has been finalized.  If that report is complete then we can make arrangements to fax you a copy, mail you a copy, or provide it to you to pick up at our office.  In most cases reports are complete within 5 days of the incident
